I had a lovely stay at this hotel with some highlights and a few drawbacks. The rooms, though the air conditioning didn't cool them well despite running constantly, were cozy and charming, featuring a fireplace and a jacuzzi. The old plank floors added character, and the absence of a phone in the room gave a tranquil feel. However, the size was smaller than expected.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of charm and inconvenience. The room had a cozy feel with unique features like old plank floors and a jacuzzi, but the tight space and a dangerous drop-down entrance were concerning. The service was friendly, though a bit too interactive for my liking. The location was ideal for exploring Newport on foot, yet the communal dining area felt dingy. Dining was a delightful journey back in time with delicious cooked-to-order meals, but the neighboring dining facility was a downside. Overall, a nostalgic getaway with a few drawbacks.
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were fantastic and located at a nicer building, although mine was ready in another property across the street but, unfortunately, right over the furnace. The service was very nice and very efficient, mostly by the owner, but I could hear our conversations and television since the room was literally on top of the dining area. The location was great, within walking distance to shopping and restaurants, very close to Bannister's and Bowen's Wharf, perfect for exploring Newport on foot. The dining was very good too, in a tiny room, but I opted not to stay for breakfast. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
